FAQs about COLLEGE ADMISSIONS & SCHOLARSHIPS

1. I am from another college/university and I want to transfer to XU. What documents should I prepare?

  • Please secure the following documents from your previous school: Transcript of Records; 2. Transfer Credentials (formerly called Honorable Dismissal); and, 3. Good Moral Certificate. You will be required to upload these documents when you apply for admissions as a TRANSFEREE in XU.

2. I stopped schooling from XU for several semesters and I intend to continue with my studies this coming semester. What should I do?

  • You are applying to XU as a RETURNEE. Returnees are XU students who stopped schooling for at least a semester and did not enroll in another school. You need to undergo a re-admissions evaluation and get an approval. If approved, you will receive via email your RETURNEE ADMISSIONS CLEARANCE, which is required for the online enrolment registration.

3. I finished my undergraduate studies in XU and I intend to pursue a 2nd undergraduate degree in the same university. What should I do?

  • You are applying to XU as a 2nd Courser. You need to undergo a re-admissions evaluation and get an approval before you can apply for admissions. If approved, you will be notified via email with your unique REGISTRATION ID NUMBER. This number will be used in creating an account in the admissions portal (http://apply.xu.edu.ph/). If successfully processed, you will receive via email your ADMISSIONS CLEARANCE, which is required for the online enrolment registration.

4. I already finished my undergraduate studies and I intend to enroll in the Prof Ed course. What should I do?

  • All Prof Ed applicants need to undergo a pre-admissions evaluation and get an approval before they can apply for admissions. If approved, you will be notified via email with your unique REGISTRATION ID NUMBER. This number will be used in creating an account in the admissions portal (http://apply.xu.edu.ph/). If successfully processed, you will receive via email your ADMISSIONS CLEARANCE, which is required for the online enrolment registration.

5. I lost my Test Registration ID number, what should I do?

  • Email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with the subject: LOST REGISTRATION ID and request for your test registration ID number.

6. I took the online college entrance exam and, while waiting for my test score results, I applied under the waived entrance examination. How do I proceed with the admissions?

  • This is a case of duplicate admissions applications, and it is highly discouraged. To proceed with creating your account in the admissions portal (http://apply.xu.edu.ph/), you are to use the registration ID number previously issued by the University Testing Center when you took and passed the online college entrance exam.

7. Are there exam cut-off scores for the Board Programs?

  • If you intend to apply for BS Accountancy, BS Nursing, or any of the Engineering Programs (except BS Industrial Engineering), then you need to take the Online College Entrance Exam and meet the required cut-off percentile rank of your chosen program to qualify. For BS Accountancy and BS Nursing applicants, aside from the entrance exam score, you may need to undergo an interview or submit other documents required by the school/college for their further evaluation.

8. If I apply to a program included in the list of courses under Waived Entrance Exam Admissions, will I be accepted regardless of my academic performance in my previous school?

  • Each program has a unique set of evaluation criteria for acceptance. Common to each program is the requirement that an applicant must have at least SATISFACTORY grades from their previous school.

9. I applied to a program under the WAIVED ENTRANCE EXAMINATION and I did not receive my login credentials for the admissions portal, what should I do?

  • The school/college might still be reviewing your application; once approved, the University Testing Center will email you the login credentials. Incomplete/pending submission of documents as required by the program you are applying for may result in further delay if not the rejection of your application. Please check with your school/college in case of any delay in the approval.

10. I already have my REGISTRATION ID NUMBER but I cannot access the admissions portal, what should I do?

  • You may access the portal when the test results are already available. For entrance exam takers, results are usually available after 10 working days from the exam date. For scholarship exam takers, it may take up to at least a month from the exam date for the results to be available. Until then, you cannot yet register in the admissions portal.

11. I still have not received my ADMISSIONS CLEARANCE, what should I do?

Delay in the release of the admissions clearance may be due to either of the following:

  • You did not register in the admissions portal. Use the LOGIN credentials given to you by the University Testing Center to register in the portal.
  • You were able to register in the portal but you failed to follow through with the instructions, missed to provide the required information or upload the required/correct document/s. Your application is PENDING until you submit all the required information and/or documents.
  • You are applying for a board program and you do not meet its SHS strand requirement hence you are put on a CROSSOVER status, which is subject to the approval of the school/college. You may have to inquire with the school/college on the status of your application.
  • You do not meet the entrance exam cutoff score requirement of the board program you are applying for and you are put on either a CONDITIONAL or a WAITLISTED status. The admitting school/college will have to approve your application before you can be issued an ADMISSIONS CLEARANCE. You may have to inquire with the school/college on the status of your application.

12. I took the online college entrance exam; unfortunately, I did not meet the cutoff score to qualify for a scholarship. Should I still undergo the pre-screening registration if I apply to a program under the waived entrance examination?

  • If you meet the minimum entrance exam score for admission to programs under the waived entrance examination, then you do not have to undergo the pre-screening registration.

13.I took the online college entrance exam; unfortunately, I did not meet the cutoff score to qualify for a scholarship. Should I take another exam if I intend to apply for a board program?

  • If you meet the cut-off score for the board program you are applying to, then there is no need for you to take another exam. Under existing rules, you also cannot retake an exam to aim for a higher score.

14. I took the online college entrance exam but, unfortunately, I did not meet the cutoff score to qualify for a board program. Should I still undergo the pre-screening registration if I apply to a program under the waived entrance examination?

  • If you meet the minimum entrance exam score for admission to programs under the waived entrance examination, then you do not have to undergo the pre-screening registration.

15. I did not meet the minimum entrance exam score for admission to any of the programs in XU, what should I do?

  • You must undergo the pre-screening registration of the school/college you are applying for.

16. How do I know if I qualified for a scholarship?

  • Upon viewing your scholarship exam score on the portal, you will be informed that you qualified for a scholarship. A formal communication will also be sent to you via email. This communication indicates what scholarship you are being considered for. Instruction to access the scholarship portal (http://scholarship.xu.edu.ph/) is indicated on the notification. Further instructions are provided thereafter.

17. How do I know if I have been awarded a scholarship?

  • Successful scholarship applications are confirmed when the applicant receives the Notice of Scholarship Award (NSA). This notification specifies the scholarship being awarded, the coverage of the grant, and the basic requirements to maintain the scholarship. The same is used to process enrollment without having to pay the required down payment.
