We are cordially inviting you to the third installment of the Policy and Governance of Sustainable Food Systems webinar series titled “Perspectives on Sustainable Water for Food Security, Health and Nutrition."
The webinar aims to open conversations and raise awareness on the crucial importance of water for food systems, sustainable agriculture and aquaculture development, sanitation and hygiene. Moreover, the webinar will:
•Be a platform for the discussion of the challenges, and share experiences in these areas from the academe and the civil society sectors; and
•Will seek to review key policies, reflect on best practices, and identify opportunities to improve water management and sanitation in the country.
The aim of this event is to empower the small-scale agri-fishery sector to develop and strengthen themselves as stakeholders in Philippine society. This will take place on 19 September 2023 at 2:00 – 4:00 PM (Philippine time), and will feature the following speakers:
1. Dr Philamer C Torio
Senior Research Fellow, Ateneo Policy Center-Ateneo School of Government
2. Mr Pedro Bueno
Former Director-General, Network of Aquaculture Centers in Asia-Pacific (NACA)
3. Mr Kevin Lee
Executive Director, A Single Drop for Safe Water, Inc.
We shall also hear from two reactors: Ms Mitzi G Salcedo, Executive Director of Philippine Business for Social Progress, and Mr Dave Gepalago of the Philippine Society for Agriculture and Biosystems Engineers (Pre-Professional Group) of Xavier University.
