Senior Chaplain for Basic Ed. Fr. RB Hizon, SJ officiates the prayer service for the blessing of the Marian medals 

On the 5th of October 2022, the Xavier University- Senior High School Community held a school-wide prayer service for the Blessing of October Medals and Launch of Marian Month, at the XU-SHS Covered Court, Pueblo Campus. Two separate sessions were conducted, 9:00 am for the Grade 11 students and 10:00 am for the Grade 12 students. Both sessions were led by the Senior Chaplain for Basic Ed., Fr. RB Hizon, SJ with the assistance of the Assistant Chaplain for Basic Ed., Fr. Arman Samonte SJ., and the SHS Scholastic-Regent, Bro. Franz Docto SJ.

The Prayer started with a solemn procession of the image of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception - Patroness of Xavier University and Mother of every Xavier-Atenean, escorted by the XUSHS Student Athletes and accompanied by the Cagayan de Oro National High School Band. The procession was then followed by the Introductory Rites, the Liturgy of the Word, and the Blessing of October Medals.

After the blessing of the medals, the designated student volunteers then distributed them to the attendees. The students who received the Marian medals were asked to attach it to their ID lanyards so that they will be able to wear them daily every time they enter the campus premises.

The prayer officially ended with the Concluding Rites and the Recessional.
