Japanese representatives of JICA-Keirinkan once again paid a courtesy visit to Xavier Ateneo Junior High School for their Smart Lecture Project last October 19, 2022 at the PAASCU Conference Room.

The visiting party was composed of Fumikatsu Homma, Keirinkan Executive Director; Toshiki Okamura and Keigo Sato, Keirinkan Directors; Shinobu Takada, Suken Director; Tsugunobu Ogino, KJS CEO-President; Sayuri Ogino, KJS COO; Naotoshi Kurogi, DCS CEO; Izumi Ibraki, DCS; Kosuke Kikuchi, JICA Philippines; Kaito Miwa, e-Education CEO; Takeru Sakaii, e-Education Vice President; Marina Takahashi, e-Education Ph Country Manager; Al Rashide Galaura, e-Education Programs Manager, & Curt Ampuan, e-Education Marketing Manager.

“This six-year partnership between JICA-Keirinkan and Xavier Ateneo Junior High School has brought innovations in teaching Math, particularly Japanese Math with Smart Lecture,” said Dr. Pamela Pajente, junior high school principal.

“In this final phase of the project, the JICA-Keirinkan team introduced the Smart Lecture e-book, a combination of videos and text to have the Japanese style of learning mathematics for students,” she added. 

            As one of the pilot schools of the project, Xavier University JHS  mathematics teachers collaborated with teachers from Japan to match and align both Japanese and Philippine math curriculum. The result of this collaboration is the Smart Lecture videos which helped Philippine students to study and develop understanding for math lessons.
