Aside from the goal of helping protect the environment, the tree planting activities are also part of XU Lands Office’s efforts in greening and landscaping XU property in preparation for future development. The tree planting site in Lumbia is also adjacent to Xavier Ecoville, the piece of land donated by the University for Sendong victims. The trees planted by the students serve both environmental and aesthetic purposes in the area.

The activity is undeniably an eye opener for every person involved. It inspired them to discover the benefits of trees as they give and provide for us. It doesn’t only promote environmental awareness but also empowers the students to act and be responsible for the protection and enhancement of our environment.

The tree planting activity series by the XU Lands Office, in coordination with XU NSTP, will continue with other batches in the succeeding weeks.
