On December 2, 2022, a Memorandum of Agreement was formally signed between the school, headed by University President Fr Mars P Tan, SJ, and XUHS Batch 1972, headed by Mr Edward Binanay. Many representatives of the batch joined the simple but meaningful program, and shared some stories of their time as students in Xavier University, and the successful and fulfilling lives they’ve led after their graduation. Some of them also shared how grateful they were for receiving scholarships that helped them receive quality education.

Batch 1972 has proven to be a very successful batch. They have gone on to become doctors, lawyers, entrepreneurs, professors, politicians among others. But as Mr Binanay put it, they owe their success to their alma mater, Xavier University. In their time as high school boys, they learned Ignatian values and formed lasting bonds and took on the world as young men embodying their Jesuit education.

They have decided to give back to Xavier University by starting an endowment program.  With an initial goal of raising Php 1 million, the batch was able to give Php 1.6 million. They now have a new milestone of raising Php 2 million and guaranteeing two scholars to be funded for life and in perpetuity. Batch 1972 is proud to have this program as their legacy.

XUHS Batch 1972 worked tirelessly to make this endowment program a reality, together with the University Treasurer’s Office, headed by Engr Lennie Ong, and the Admissions and Aid Office, headed by OIC Director Mr Tyron Sabal.
