Oct 2022 LET

Ricardo C Santiago III, a 2012 graduate of AB Philosophy of Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan, is among those ranked 10 in the Top 10 examinees of the October 2022 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) in the Secondary Level posting a 92.4% rating. Santiago completed his Professional Education Course at the XU School of Education in 2019 and is currently teaching Philosophy at the tertiary level.

XU secured an overall performance rating of 90% in the Elementary Level and 81.82% in the Secondary Level.

XU President Fr Mars P Tan is thankful for yet another XU topnotcher in a licensure exam.  “My big congratulations to our lone LET topnotcher, Ricardo Santiago, to all our new teachers, and to their mentors and teachers in the School of Education! May they keep this passion and excellence as teachers to serve others.”

Dr Edralin C Manla, Dean of the School of Education, expressed her gratitude as well for the results and gave this message to all the XU LET passers, “May you all bring the SOE spirit in the teaching profession and serve as an inspiration to your learners. Be a mentor, be a friend – that your learners may feel they always have someone to share their thoughts, ideas, and feelings with. And always remember that XU SOE will always be your home.” 

The Philosophy Department was also glad and proud to receive the news as nine of their graduates passed the LET with Santiago being in the top 10.  Mr Derrick B Pimentel, Chair of the dept,  said, "The Faculty and Students of the Philosophy Department would like to express our profound joy on the success of our Philosophy graduates who are now Licensed Professional Teachers after passing the October 2022 Licensure Examination. Nine of our graduates from different batches made it, and one landed in the Top 10 Passers, Mr Ricardo C Santiago III. Keep your commitment to Philosophy in educating the young. Congratulations to all and Ric for being the top 10, you made Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan proud with your excellent performance."

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) administered the regular LET on October 2, 2022 in at least 34 testing centers nationwide and in Bangkok, Thailand. Results were released on December 16, 2022. Cebu Normal University took home the two slots for Top 1 in the Elementary Level with Baby Patricia T. Bensi and Ma Catherine Cauba who both registered a rating of 94.60%. In the Secondary Level, the University of Mindanao-Panabo gained the number 1 spot with Jessiree F Pantilgan with a rating of 94.60%. Meantime, the Philippine Normal University-Manila is the top performing school in the Elementary Level with a percentage passing rate of 95.12%, while the University of the Philippines-Los Banos earned the number 1 rank in the Secondary Level with a 100% passing rate.
