The 14th of June 2023 marked another milestone as the XUJHS community unveiled the new statue of St. Ignatius of Loyola at the campus’ main building, inner garden.

Six years after its last celebration, the school proudly embarks on a new journey of missionary work, teaching, and learning with the symbol of Xavier Ateneo’s Jesuit education values.

The event commenced with an opening prayer by Bro Daven Manubag and a warm welcome address from the school principal, Dr Pamela Pajente.This was followed by a message from PSTAG President Mr Arsenio Trigo who highlighted the significance of St Ignatius' legacy and his unwavering commitment to social justice and spiritual enlightenment. Arsenio passionately spoke about how St Ignatius' values have led many to fulfill their spiritual journey.

Finally, the moment everyone had been eagerly waiting for arrived as university president, Fr Mars P Tan SJ, along with XUJHS students, faculty and staff, PSTAG Board, and other important guests graced the unveiling of the statue and the marker ceremony. The statue then received a blessing from Fr Arman B Samonte SJ, followed by the wreath-laying ceremony and word of thanks from Mr Joseph Seth Saga.

The sense of respect and gratitude in the air was felt as individuals contemplated the impact St Ignatius had on their own lives and others who have been guided by his principles of faith, justice, and lifelong learning.

This tribute serves as a testament to the lasting influence of a visionary whose teachings continue to shape minds, inspire hearts, and bring a deep sense of purpose among countless individuals across the globe.
