Five (5) senior BS Marine Biology and 56 BS Biology students attended the third lab coat donning ceremony at the Immaculate Conception Church of Xavier University last 16 September 2023.

The Eucharistic celebration and the blessing of the lab coats were presided over by Fr Mars P Tan SJ. The ceremony followed thereafter and was witnessed by the faculty and staff of the Biology Department, the parents and guardians of the senior students, and the Biophilic Society which is the student organization of the Biology and Marine Biology programs.

Dubbed Metamorphose 2023, the donning ceremony is an annual event held for the fourth-year students of the two programs by the Biology Department in preparation for the Practicum subject that will be taken during the second semester.

Under the current curriculum, senior students must pass the core subjects before they can engage in the 150-hour requirement of the Practicum subject.
