Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan receives recognition during the CHED Asean ICON Awards 2023, for their exemplar performance in the Quacquarelli Symonds Asia Rankings.

Released annually since 2009, the QS Asia University Rankings highlights the top universities in Asia each year. Xavier Ateneo was among the Philippine Higher Education Institutions that exemplified excellence in internationally- recognized ranking metrics and ASEAN University Network quality assurance.

The ICON Awards 2023 (Internationalization Champions of Nation-Building and Sustainability) was held last 6 October 2023 at the PICC in Manila by the CHED International Affairs Service. Gracing the occasion were CHED Chairman Dr J Prospero E De Vera III, CHED IAS Director Dr Marita R Canapi, Deputy Executive Director Atty Lily Freida C Macabangun-Milla, CESO IV, CHED Region X Director Dr Raul C Alvarez, Jr, CESO III, and Ms Rose Mae Lumacang of CHED Region X.
