The SEA-Teacher Project serves as a platform for pre-service student teachers from universities across Southeast Asia to gain valuable teaching experiences through practicum placements in schools within the SEA region. This initiative aligns with the SEAMEO agenda, which aims to enhance the quality of education in Southeast Asia. The exchange program primarily invites 3rd and 4th year students specializing in Mathematics, Science, English, Pre-school, Economic Education, Physical Education, Elementary/Primary, and Social Science.

Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan, in collaboration with the Office of International Cooperation and Networking (OICN), has pledged its commitment and support to the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education-Teacher Exchange Program (SEA-TEP). In August 2023, three (3) students from Xavier Ateneo School of Education namely: Charmie Cabiasa, Djevonah Ogoy, and Steven Paul Siawan, were sent to Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University under the Royal Patronage (VRU) in Pathum Thani, Thailand, as part of the exchange program.

The structure of the SEA-Teacher Project encompasses various stages, including orientation and class observation, serving as teaching assistants alongside cooperating teachers, actively facilitating learning in the classroom, and reflecting on the experiences gained during the program.

Through this immersive experience, the Thai students will enhance their teaching skills and gain a deeper understanding of the Philippine education system, culture, and Jesuit Education. Likewise, the students at Xavier Ateneo Junior High School will benefit from the diverse perspectives and teaching approaches brought by their Thai counterparts.
