Xavier University employees, students, alumni, families, and other participants including the city firefighters gathered in the streets of Xavier University on Corrales Avenue and Xavier University Pueblo de Oro Campus last 2 December 2023, at 5:30am as they excitedly prepared to make the symbolic Run & Walk toward the soon to be grounds of the Campus of the Future. The crowd, led by XU President Fr Mars P Tan SJ, the Board of Trustees Chairperson Frank Guerra, and City Councilors Atty James Judith and Kenneth Sacala, made the historic uphill and downhill Run & Walk towards Manresa where they converged to officially kick off the much-anticipated developments for the Masterson Campus. A short program was held as special awards were given to the oldest and youngest runners. The first of a series of the Masterson Campus videos was also launched during the event. In it, Fr Mars said that the new campus is “God’s gift to Xavier Ateneo, a gift we share not only to Cagayan de Oro City, but to the whole of Mindanao. We are ready for this dream. Join Xavier University, let this dream come true.”

The Move for More Campaign aims to bring together partners and bring about innovations that will contribute to the establishment of a Campus of the Future which will advance not only the university, but also the City of Cagayan de Oro and the rest of Mindanao. It hopes to bring home its alumni and invite other stakeholders in creating a university that is world class, a university that continues to produce more graduates who are global contributors. It promotes XU as one community with shared values and goals and bring about the best education for the youth, striving to provide better service in research, community work, and leadership development. It highlights that uniquely Atenean mantra of “Magis” - to do more in providing opportunities for the students, thereby allowing them to be more and to be of service to more people.
