The study representing Xavier University, titled 'Uncovering the Medicinal Potential of Artocarpus odoratissimus (Marang) Peels: A Phytochemical Analysis, and Its Antioxidative and Anti-inflammatory Activity,' is guided by their thesis adviser, Maria Rhotsyn B Dacar PhD, a faculty member of the Biology Department at Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan. It aims to investigate the medicinal properties. Examining the antioxidative and anti-inflammatory effects of Marang Peels' extract aims to yield insights into the impact of chronic diseases like diabetes and the reduction of oxidants associated with cancer development. Additionally, the anticipated outcomes of this study aspire to catalyze further research into utilizing green waste, including peels and seeds, for alternative purposes. This extends beyond the medical realm, encompassing sustainable practices and waste reduction.
