Animal Science is a four-year course under the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture program. The program plays a significant role in addressing the problems of low farm productivity and food shortages in the country. The course specifically aims to make animal production a profitable enterprise without neglecting the environment. Animal Science operates both as an academic and outreach unit of the college.

Objectives

Consistent with the goals of the College of Agriculture, the Animal Science Unit is established to help accelerate agricultural development in Region X, in particular, and in the country, in general, with the following aims:

  • To provide undergraduate instruction in the different fields of Animal Science;
  • To generate, verify, and package appropriate technologies in livestock and poultry production; and,
  • To provide technical advice and services to local livestock and poultry raisers.
