For the first time in two school years, Xavier Ateneo welcomed college freshmen during the Orientation Seminar (commonly called as "OrSem") held from June 6 to 8 at the XU Gymnasium.

Themed “Bring it On, Freshmen,” this year's OrSem marked history as the first batch of K-12 graduates entered college.

More than 2,000 college freshmen enrolled at XU this school year.

The three-day seminar kicked off with a Eucharistic celebration led by university president Fr Roberto Yap SJ.

In his homily, Yap introduced and challenged the freshmen to start their college year with the Ignatian values in mind, particularly the essence of magis (a philosophy of excellence) and cura personalis (whole-person care and education).

Activities such as ORSEMvivor and split sessions were conducted on the following days. The orientation seminar was concluded with the OrSem Night which showcased various performances from the XU community.∎(Report by Harmony Balino)
