CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines — Emergencies and untoward incidents can happen in various places, occasions, and situations which may lead to damages, injuries, or even death. With appropriate response and basic intervention, however, an ordinary individual can save lives.

To this end, the Xavier University National Service Training Program (XU-NSTP), in partnership with the Philippine Heart Association (PHA) - Northwestern Mindanao Chapter, conducted a seminar on basic life support particularly on conducting cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on Saturday, July 14.

Practical and relevant inputs were given during the seminar by the Department of Health Region 10 (DOH-10) and medical practitioners from Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC).

The event culminated with CPR compression demonstrations at the soccer field simulating real-life scenarios and applications of possible interventions and measures.∎
