Nobility |nōˈbilitē|
noun (pl. nobilities)
the quality of being noble in character, mind, birth, or rank

More often than not, we tend to associate nobility in the teaching profession. Cliché as it may sound, the mere knowledge of teaching as a noble profession is an understatement as it entails a deeper understanding that it is not just a noble profession, but rather, a noble vocation.

On September 14-25, Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan's Arrupe Educational Center (AEC), in partnership with the Department of Education Region 10, implemented a project aimed at preparing our Arabic Language and Islamic Values Education (ALIVE) teachers for the Board Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (BLEPT) last Sept 30. The Competency Enhancement of Accelerated Teachers Education Program was a 10-day review held at the National Educators Academy of the Philippines - Region 10 in Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City.

The AEC has gathered a powerhouse pool of 27 lecturers who dedicated their time to do enriching concurrent sessions for our 96 ALIVE teachers (commonly called as "Asatidz"). The Project of Madrasah Education (PME) unequivocally supports our Asatidz as they are the prime movers of the refined Madrasah Elementary Curriculum, popularly known as the Arabic Language and Islamic Values Education (ALIVE) which is the heart of the PME program.

Collectively, the lecturers and organizers admired the participants for having been consistently eager to learn, unlearn, and relearn the dynamics of taking tests and understanding key principles. They have truly embodied nobility in character and spirit during the 10-day training.

The AEC and the lecturers are looking forward to a positive outcome for the Asatidz as they pursue their coveted licenses this year. Inshaallah!
