The Xavier University-National Service Training Program (XU-NSTP) held a Lenten Recollection for the XU-NSTP partners at the AVR 1, Old Library last 27 March 2024. The theme for this year’s recollection is “Renewal: A Journey of Reflection and Reconnection”.

Representatives from several partner schools in the Department of Education (DepEd)-Cagayan de Oro City, government and non-government organizations, and offices of our university attended the said activity to take a pause and reflect on their journey with their partnership in XU-NSTP for the societal engagement this second semester.

Mr Kirk Anthony B Diala, faculty at Xavier University Senior High School facilitated the recollection session to the participating partner institutions. Mr Diala was able to facilitate the recollection of the key points in Xavier’s Mission and that the partnership entailed significant roles in this mission. The XU-NSTP Partners are mission partners and not just stakeholders for a successful implementation of the course societal engagements.

In addition, the session also engaged the participants to familiarize their selves with the characters of the story of Passion and find connections and resonance with the different characters to that of our lives.

Mrs Virna Ellezo, a reading coordinator from City Engineers Elementary School shared her reflection during the plenary session on God’s greatness despite the hectic schedules she had in her make-up classes with the students and for the reading remediation sessions.

The recollection concluded with a synthesis of who God is and His greatness and what He can do in our daily lives.
