In preparation for the 2025 Elections, XU, through the Social Involvement and Advocacy Program (SIAP) under the Social Development (SD) Cluster, partnered with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) to initiate the #APIL2025 Satellite Voter Registration from 15-19 April, 2024 at XU Peace Park. Registrants also included alumni, friends, and family of the XU community.

#APIL2025, or “Atenista para sa PILi-ay 2025,” was launched to provide the entire XU Community, especially first-time voters, with accessibility to register for the upcoming elections in 2025. This 5-day event was administered by the City COMELEC Offices from Districts 1 and 2.

The 4-step process ensured that the registration was done in 10-15 minutes. First, the registrants are interviewed and the requirements for registration are checked. Registrants have to then fill up a form with their personal details. Once the form is submitted, registrants proceed to get their photographs taken. Registrants then submit their biometric profiles for the last step. Other services such as voter registration transfer, reactivation, and the Register Anywhere Program (RAP) were also offered.

The event’s success empowers and encourages the XU community to exercise their right to suffrage/vote as Filipino citizens and aids them in recognizing that the key to good governance lies in their hands.
