Library administrators and personnel had their first outreach program at Amakan Village, the temporary shelter offered by the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro to families displaced by Typhoon Sendong.

The librarians and their staff held storytelling, dance and relaxation exercises to 80 children between 4 and 12 years old. The program aimed to promote a culture of sharing and learning for the Sendong survivors, especially the children.
