Students of Xavier University joined hands with other Kagayanons toward a better Cagayan de Oro at the grand launching of the Kagayanon for Good Governance Movement held on February 16, 2013, 8:00 am – 12:00 noon at the Patrick Cronin Hall, San Agustin Cathedral. The Movement aims to promote good governance through a more engaged and intelligent electorate.
 
The activity started with a short program to introduce the crusade, followed by a walk for good governance starting at San Agustin Cathedral to Divisoria and back. The activity commenced with a press conference where representatives of the Kagayanon for Good Governance answered questions from the media.
 
Present in the said activity were representatives from organizations comprising the KGG core group namely Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro – Social Action Center, AGGAP, PPCRV, Namfrel, KKP-SIO, Balaod Mindanao, XU Batch ’70, XU Batch ’72, XU-CSG, Group Foundation, XU Central Student Government, XU Psychology Society and XU NSTP; and COMELEC Officer Atty. Aleli Dayo-Ramirez, youth from Carmen and Lapasan, media partners and students from Sacred Heart of Jesus Montessori School.
 
The Kagayanon for Good Governance hopes to educate voters on their rights and responsibilities as members of a single community. Xavier University’s Kristohanong Katilingban sa Pagpakabana – Social Involvement Office acts as secretariat of the Movement.
