Xavier University has produced 157 new nurses after garnering 100% passing rate in the November 2014 Nursing Licensure Exam (NLE) results.

XU - College of Nursing has five from its new set of nurses who landed in the top 10: Michelle Laureen Nepomuceno Estrella earned the 4th place with 86%; Jen Nicole Baconguis Tangcongco, who graduated as cum laude, took the 8th spot with 85.20%; Angelie Pagente Castro reaped the 9th place with 85%; Jezza Marie Dadulas Legaspi and Josephine Justin Maye Ravidas Tadlip shared in the 10th place with 84.80%.

XU president Fr Roberto “Bobby” C Yap SJ expressed his congratulations to the topnotchers, and to the faculty and staff of XUCN for the “excellent guidance and support they have steadfastly provided to the students.”

“To God be the glory that XU continues to form quality nurses who will be instruments of healing and compassion,” Fr Bobby said in a statement.

XU together with St Paul University in Tuguegarao City, Remedios Trinidad Romualdez Medical Foundation in Tacloban City, Leyte and St Paul University in Iloilo City emerged as top performing nursing schools in the country after achieving 100% passing rate.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) said that out of the 26,690 takers, only 15, 292 (57.31%) passed in the said exam.
