Xavier University’s Philippine Air Force - Reserve Officer Training Corps (PAF-ROTC), officially known as the 801^st Department of Air Science and Tactics, was recognized as the “Department of Air Science and Tactics Unit of 2015” by the Philippine Air Force.

Eighth Air Reserve Center Commanding Officer LTC Gaudencio M Lauron III PAF (GSC), assisted by XU PAF-ROTC Commandant CPT Jaclaine Lennor R Barra PAF, turned over the award to XU president Fr Roberto C Yap SJ, during the annual tactical inspection of the ROTC. The recognition is considered as a joint victory between XU and the 8th Air Reserve Center of the Philippine Air Force.

This is the second consecutive year that Xavier’s PAF-ROTC has won the award. In 2013 and 2014, the unit was also named the Armed Forces of the Philippines - ROTC Unit of the Year.
