A law graduate of Xavier University landed in the top 8 in the November 2015 bar examination.

In the list of examinees who obtained the ten highest ratings released by Supreme Court En Banc Tuesday, May 3, XU's Soraya Salubo Laut garnered 85.85%, along with two other successful takers.

Out of the 6,608 takers, only 1,731 successfully passed the test reputed for being one of the hardest in the world.

The passing grade was kept at 75%. The national passing rate is 26.21%.

Last year’s bar exam was held at the University of Santo Tomas, where tests were given in four Sundays of November.

The bar exam covered eight different subjects, namely, Political and Public International Law, Labor and Social Legislation, Civil Law, Taxation, Mercantile Law, Criminal Law, Remedial Law, and Legal and Judicial Ethics.

During the 5th founding anniversary of the Legal Education Board, Xavier Law received an award as one of the top 10 law schools in the country, conferred on December 1 last year at Bayleaf Hotel, Intramuros, Manila.

Xavier Law’s inclusion to the list of top law schools was determined on the basis of its cumulative ratings in the Bar Examinations of 2012, 2013 and 2014 as certified by the Bar Confidant of the Supreme Court.
