The Xavier University - Dr Jose P Rizal School of Medicine ranked 10th in the roster of top performing medical schools in the country based on the results of the September 2016 Physician Licensure Examination.
Sixty-four out of 70 takers successfully passed the said exam, giving XU a passing rate of 91.43% against the national passing rate of 78.46%.
According to the report released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Sept 21, a total of 2,899 out of 3,695 passed the exam nationwide, conducted by the Board of Medicine in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cebu, and Davao.
XU president Fr Roberto C Yap SJ expressed his commendations to this latest feat of the School of Medicine.
“We thank dean Dr Ruth S Beltran, the faculty and staff of the Dr Jose P Rizal School of Medicine for the guidance and support they have given to our students,” said Yap in his message to the academic community.
“Congratulations to our new XU physicians! May you truly become physicians for others, instruments of God’s holistic healing!” the president added.
PRC has reminded the medicine board passers that the registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card and Certificate of Registration will be done online from Sept 29 to October 4, 2016. Successful examinees should then personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals. ∎
