Hoping to raise awareness and gain support, the World Bank Organization, in partnership with Xavier University - Knowledge for Development Community (KDC) and Development Communication Department, launched the #EndPoverty campaign in the locality.

As part of the UN Global Campaign to End Poverty, this endeavor aims to gather ideas from local stakeholders (university students, teachers, faculty, and community members) by posting their thoughts or taking photos of initiatives that have contributed to alleviating poverty.

With this, the XU Senior High School students actively took part in the campaign, posting their thoughts on the End Poverty Wall and turned to Twitter to share their ideas on how we can #EndPoverty. Students with the best ideas and most liked tweets received flash disks sponsored by the World Bank.

Besides XU, other Knowledge for Development Communities all over the country also took part in the campaign, such as Silliman University and St Paul University Philippines.

Some photos and tweets by the students were picked up by the World Bank and have been included in its global video campaign. Watch the video here.
