Ateneo School for Upcoming Leaders (ASUL) director-general Janniko Arvi Gopez served as the official delegate of Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan to the 2017 Ayala Young Leaders Congress (AYLC), one of the country's most sought-after crash courses on servant leadership and nation-building.

Gopez, a junior accountancy student, joined other 80 delegates of AYLC held from February 7 to 10 in Batangas.

Through a rigorous screening and interview process with senior executives of the Ayala Corporation, 81 young leaders were chosen from more than 600 nominees across the country. Every year, AYLC selects the most promising student leaders with leadership track record, strong positive impact, and dedicated service to others from the country’s leading schools and universities.

Niko, as called by his friends, currently helms ASUL, a leadership formation program that ignites and empowers student leaders in the university through the discovery of self, skills for leadership, uplifting of society, and love of God.

He is also the incoming president (SY 2017-2018) of the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) of Xavier Ateneo.∎
