Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan’s Governance and Leadership Institute (GLI) director Dr Dixon Yasay served as the main resource speaker at the Entrepreneurial Leadership Orientation on Friday, August 4 in Iloilo City.

Yasay shared with the Iloilo local chief executives in attendance the importance of creating structures that will support Local Economic Development (LED) and investment promotions. 

Structures, he said, can only be done if the local chief executive will champion the cause which is rooted to generating employment and poverty reduction. 

“Championing investment promotion is not an easy thing to do but it can only be meaningful if the focus is equitable growth with the preferential option for the poor,” Yasay continued.

On behalf of the provincial governor of Iloilo, Concepcion Mayor Milliard S Villanueva awarded the certificate of appreciation to Yasay. 

The activity was organized by Iloilo Provincial Government as part of its effort in developing business-friendly and competitive local government units through the Provincial Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion (PLEDIP) Center.∎
