Loving Father Today, we break new ground, carrying with us the learnings and experiences we received at Xavier University. We honor the past years when You allowed us to be formed—and, when necessary, to be broken—so that we could grow. You shaped us through the many instruments of Your grace: teachers passionate about learning, supportive staff, wise administrators, assuring classmates, supportive families, faithful friends, and even difficult experiences that taught us life’s hardest but most important lessons. Now, with a blend of gratitude and hope, we step forward into mostly unfamiliar terrain—not with confidence in our own abilities, but with trust in our deepening connection with You, our God. Strengthen us to build authentic relationships—with ourselves, with others, and with the communities You have prepared for us to encounter. On this Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we humbly ask: give us obedient hearts to follow Your will, hearts filled with gratitude and hope to face challenges, and generous hearts that do not count the cost in the work of rebuilding and healing this world—our common home, which You so deeply love. Amen.
