Each year the Mindanao Week of Peace is celebrated throughout Mindanao from the last Thursday of November until the first Wednesday of December.

Presidential Proclamation No. 127 provides that all government agencies and its instrumentalities, as well as the civil society based in Mindanao, are enjoined and encouraged to engage in relevant and meaningfulactivities in this annual celebration.

This year’s theme is “Towards Human Fraternity for Peacein Mindanao,” inspired by the joint document signed by the two highest leaders of the world, Christian and Muslim communities, Pope Francis of the Roman Catholics, and the Grand Imam Al-Tayyeb of Al-Azhar.

This year, the student-led XU Lakaw Para sa Kalinaw will take place on December 2 (Monday), with an assembly time of 4:30PM at the XU Peace Park. The walk around the campus will start at exactly 5PM and will culminate with a short community prayer at the same venue (Divisoria Peace Park) at 5:20PM.
