Each year the Mindanao Week of Peace is celebrated throughout Mindanao from the last Thursday of November until the first Wednesday of December.

Presidential Proclamation No. 127 provides that all government agencies and its instrumentalities, as well as the civil society based in Mindanao, are enjoined and encouraged to engage in relevant and meaningful activities in this annual celebration.

This year’s theme is “Towards Human Fraternity for Peace in Mindanao,” inspired by the joint document signed by the two highest leaders of the world Christian and Muslim community, Pope Francis of the Roman Catholics and the Grand Imam Al-Tayyeb of Al-Azhar. 

One of the activities slated in line with the celebration is the Youth Peace Forum on December 4, 2019, from 9AM to 11AM at the XU Little Theater.

Local peace advocates are invited as resource persons to give inputs as well as encourage the youth to take part in building a culture of peace in Mindanao.

Students from select junior high and the senior high schools all over the city are also invited to join us as we promote the dialogue of peace in Mindanao.∎
