Note: Comprehensive exam during the intersession is for scholars only whose program of study indicates it.

 

WRITTEN COMPREHENSIVE EXAM (Face-to-face starting First Semester AY 2022-23 and onwards)

Steps:

1. Download the application for written comprehensive examination form (CAS GS-01).  Fill out the form accordingly and get the required signatures up to the Registrar only.

2. Request an evaluation of your academic records (template available – CAS GS-03) from your GPC.

3. Pay the comprehensive examination fee. For payment details, please refer below:

➢Reference Code/Charge Account No.: 5101-9025 DEP-CAS GRAD STUDIES COMPRE & THESIS
     For online payment, write the reference code in the purpose of transaction.

➢ ATM, Internet, Telephone for BPI acct holders (enrollment at branch of acct is required) 24/7

  1. Name of Payor: Full Name of the Student
  2. Purpose of payment: Comprehensive Exam Fee
  3. Amount: 1000 (Master’s); 2000 (Doctorate)
  4. Reference Code/Charge Account No.: 5101-9025 DEP-CAS GRAD STUDIES COMPRE & THESIS
  5. Soft copy of validated deposit slip or confirmation of bank transfer

5. Submit the following documents to CAS Graduate Studies Office located at SS 106.

a. Application for Written Examination

b. Evaluation of Academic Records

c. Proof of Comprehensive Exam Payment

6. CAS GS staff will initially check the submitted documents. Once done, the documents are forwarded to CAS GS Asst to the Dean (CAS GS AD) for double checking and finally to CAS Dean for approval.

7. Once approved, CAS GS Asst to the Dean (CAS GS AD) will notify the applicants regarding:

  1. Schedule of Comprehensive Exam
  2. Subjects included in the exam
  3. Exam Instructions

ORAL COMPREHENSIVE EXAM (for PhD Sociology)

Steps:

  2. Attach the duly filled application form (CAS GS-02). 
  3. CAS GS Asst to the Dean will send a reminder email to the adviser and panel members.
  4. On the day of the oral examination, the adviser acts as the facilitator.

  6. CAS GS AD will release the official result of the oral examination to the student cc program coordinator, adviser, and CAS Dean.
