The new College of Agriculture farm laboratory site is now situated in El Gaucho, Puerto, Cagayan de Oro City. It leaves its 64-hectare home in Manresa which became the cradle of the farm laboratory after Fr William F Masterson SJ founded it in 1955.

The land in El Gaucho spans 109 hectares, with 20 hectares already being developed, to serve as the college’s instructional, research, and development hub, showcasing technologies that will develop the skills and expertise of students in the areas of Crop Science, Animal Science, Agriculture and Biosystems Engineering, Food Technology, Agribusiness, and Development communications.

Recognized as CHEDs Center of Excellence in Agriculture Education in 2016, the College, through its new and expansive farm lab, will offer a more strategic venue to showcase food production, processing, and Agri systems technologies. It will also allow the conduct of relevant research and provide avenues for training and community development.

Cognizant of the important role of Agriculture in the economy and the environment, the new farm laboratory in El Gaucho aims to produce leaders molded by Jesuit education who will help address issues on food security and climate change, and who will advance the agricultural sector not only in Mindanao and the country but in the entire ASEAN as well.
