For Articles
- Articles are between 6,000 and 10,000 words, including notes and references.
- Raw thesis is not accepted; it must be converted into an article format.
- Since 2025, Kinaadman uses the author-date system of the latest edition of The Chicago Manual of Style. Please consult this link https://www.chicagomanualofstyle.org/tools_citationguide/citation-guide-2.html for basic examples. Authors may use end notes.
- Paper should contain the following elements:
- Title
- Author, office or university affiliation (if applicable), and email address.
- Abstract of 100 to 250 words, and 3-5 keywords
- Discussion
- Bibliography
- For the Discussion, use topic headings and/or subheadings if possible.
- Images, graphs, and other illustrations must be clean, clear, and sharp. Contributors are responsible for obtaining permission from copyright holders for reproducing illustrations, tables, figures, or any lengthy quotations previously published elsewhere.
- Prepare a bio note of not more than 300 words, with the following information:
- Full name, including titles/degrees
- Institutional affiliation/s
- Educational background and research interests and publications
- Contact number, postal and email address.
- Manuscripts are accepted all year round. Send your article and bio note as attachments through any of the following:

Literary Materials
- Kinaadman accepts poetry, nonfiction, fiction, excerpts of longer work in English, in Cebuano-Bisaya, or Tagalog language as long as the work is not simultaneously under consideration by another publication.
- Fiction and nonfiction should be double-spaced, while poetry should be single-spaced (unless spacing is part of the work).
- All submissions should be in Word document file, Times New Roman, 12 pts, and properly paginated, starts 1 at first page.
- Prepare a bio note as a separate file of 100-250 words, with the following information: full name, including titles/degrees, educational background, and institutional affiliation/s, research interests and publications. Include contact number, postal and email address.
- Email manuscript and bio note as file attachments (.docx) to:

Book Reviews
- Book must have been published within the last two (2) years at the time of the review. Book must be on language and literature, Mindanaoan history and other concerns impacting southern Philippines.
- Review must be from 1,000 to 4,000 words, including notes and references (if applicable).
- Any reference in book reviews should be fully documented.
- Include bibliographic information, total number of pages, book size, and book cover image (if possible).
- Submit a bio note as a separate file of 100-250 words, with the following information: full name including titles/degrees, educational background, current institutional affiliation, research interests and publications, contact number, postal and email address.
- Email manuscript and bio note as file attachments (.docx) to:

Exhibits/Artworks Reviews
- Pertain to exhibits/artworks in or about southern Philippines.
- Review may be within 800 to 2,000 word-range, including notes and references (if applicable).
- Review should provide a brief background of the artist and relate the exhibit/art work's theme to issues in the region or the country.
