Xavier Ateneo introduced operational policies that contribute to carbon emission reduction. A simple yet impactful measure is the “No Idling” rule for vehicles in all parking areas of the main campus, implemented on October 1, 2023. This policy prohibits vehicle engines from running for more than one minute while parked, effectively curbing unnecessary fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

 

The ‘no-idling’ policy to reduce carbon emissions supports the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy and 13: Climate Action.
