Xavier Ateneo extends its influence beyond the campus by providing technical advice and policy support to government and community partners.
The University President, Fr. Mars P. Tan, SJ, represents the institution as a member of the Cagayan de Oro City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, (CDRRMC). Xavier Ateneo’s expertise thus contributes directly to local resilience and governance.
This institutional commitment is concrete and active, with the President listed among the official attendees of key governance activities. For the first quarter of Calendar Year 2024, the University was included in the invitations for the CDRRMC Meeting, demonstrating its ongoing involvement in the city’s disaster risk reduction planning and policy formulation.

The representation of the University President in the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council supports the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.
