The University conducted robust capacity-building initiatives for local farmers, cooperatives, and government partners. A key activity was the joint learning exchange with the Lirongan High Value Farmers Association and the Department of Agriculture Region 10, in collaboration with the Jollibee Group Foundation.

This specific cross-learning visit, which took place in Cebu City from November 19 to 22, 2024, was designed to immerse participants in the successful operations of the Lamac Multipurpose Cooperative (LMPC), a university partner.

The Lirongan High Value Farmers Association (LiHVVFA) team was taken to observe PhilGAP certified farms and farmers in Barangay Sudlon, where they learned the processes required to acquire certification. Participants toured the LMPC Integrated Farm, which showcased diversified operations including a Cacao Nursery, Dairy Milk Production and Processing, Poultry, and even Garments Production. The team received an orientation on the history and various services offered by LMPC, which extend beyond agriculture to include Savings and Loan services, Health and Mortuary Insurance, a Farm School, and Travel and Tours. The visit included LMPC's Cocoville farm, where the process of making various coconut products and the use of their food processing and microbiology laboratory were demonstrated. The team also conducted a market study at Cebu's Carbon Market.
