Xavier University offers various opportunities for students who are endowed with academic ability and those who have the academic ability but do not have sufficient financial resources to obtain a Jesuit education.  

As an educational institution, XU offers scholarships and grants-in-aid   to welcome the best and the brightest students who will excel in academic performance and constitute a leaven that lifts the academic level of the entire student body.

As a Jesuit educational institution, XU offers scholarships and grants-in-aid to support quality students who may be trained as future leaders for the community, country and Church imbued with the Jesuit goal of witness to faith and promotion of justice.

As a Filipino Jesuit educational institution, XU offers scholarships and grants-in-aid to nourish quality students to have special concern for ameliorating inequities in the social order in the Philippines and to promote the culture and heritage of the Filipino nation.

As a Catholic institution, XU offers scholarships and grants-in-aid to Catholic students together with students of other religions and faiths.  Through such scholarships/grants-in-aid, XU exercises the right and duty to foster the religious safeguards as well as supports by which academic excellence attains its proper fullness and fulfillment.

The scholarship programs available to all levels classified under two main categories:  Academic Scholarships and Grants-in-Aid.

  • Academic scholarships are awarded each year or semester, as the case may be, for academic achievement
  • Grants-in-Aid are awarded on the combined basis of academic merit and financial need.  The awardee enjoys this aid as long as he or she fulfills the requirements indicated in the term of the award.  
  • Athletics and Performing Arts Scholarship. Varsity and members of the performing arts group (e.g. dance troupe, glee club, theater goup, XU Band and other groups) are granted scholarships based on active membership and excellent performances as athletes and resident artists of the University. They render service to the University and to the wider community through their performances and the promotion of sports and culture and the arts.
  • Government Scholarships. OSFA also facilitates the government sponsored scholarships and grants-in-aid, particularly by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Department of Science &Technology (DOST), and by other government agencies.

The Campus Safety, Security and Information Office (CSSIO) is the lead unit in the united effort to secure the Xavier University community. Its mandate is to protect the community against any intentional harm, prevent or mitigate the effects of any accidents, and to actively respond to threats and hazards within the XU campus. To this end, CSSIO develops and recommends policies, guidelines, procedures and practice in consultation with stakeholders to accomplish its mission.

The goal of CM staff development is to strengthen the full professionalization and development, engagement and pastoral management of Campus Ministers. Its objectives include the professionalization and development of CM personnel. It ensures that the personnel can attend formation trainings to update his/her expertise. This committee also issues the Cardoner, the official publication of the office.

The CM office, through this committee, has helped institutionalize the formation track for the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro Campus Ministry Association and has assisted other school campus ministers stabilize their programs in their respective schools. In this regard, CM actually serves as a resource of formation needs in the Archdiocese and even in the larger context such as the National Campus Ministry. This allows the office to participate in the National CM convention and all Ateneo Formators' Colloquium.

CMO is equipped with KSA in pastoral management such as strategic assessment and planning, project management, human resource management, financial management, social marketing, time management, strategic negotiation and conflict resolution and conducted at least one research project related to the development of formation for students.

CM DEV facilitates strengthening session activities among campus ministers once a month to enhance better relationship and deepen prayer life of each one.
