The Biology Department is an academic and service unit of the College of Arts and Sciences committed to provide students a basic foundation in the biological and related sciences through introductory and specialized courses. As an academic unit, it trains students to engage in research, pursue graduate studies and prepare for a medical degree. 

This is an all course work program with a special problem/practicum requirement that gives students exposure to research.

The program is appropriate for students who are teaching secondary and college-level biology courses.

XU Entrance Exam of at least 80%

The Masters of Arts in Economics is a flexible degree that can meet a wide range of student needs. It provides for the thesis and non-thesis options. Both program options afford analytical and decision-making tools appropriate for a broad range of professional careers. A core curriculum in microeconomics theory and quantitative study provide students with the foundation necessary to make sound decisions in different environments. These principles are further developed and reinforced in variety of majors and elective courses appropriate for many applied areas.

The program is also an effective way to prepare for several career options that include but not limited to the academe, industry, business and financial institutions of all sizes, non-profit organizations, national, regional, and local government employment and research. Students interested in pursuing a PhD in Economics and related fields also benefit from the program.
