Xavier University–Ateneo de Cagayan proudly celebrates this latest recognition from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources–Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB), in collaboration with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Department of Education (DepEd). The university was named among the Top 5 Most Sustainable and Eco-friendly Schools in the Philippines under the college category. XU President Mars P Tan, SJ received the plaque and Php100,000 cash award on behalf of the University.
This achievement reflects the collective efforts of the Xavier Ateneo community in promoting responsible campus practices and a shared commitment to caring for our common home. As a Laudato Si’ University, it affirms Xavier’s ongoing commitment to a sustainable and eco-friendly campus, where education, research, social engagement, and operations are rooted in environmental stewardship.
