Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan is inviting all students in Mindanao to join the music and dance competitions slated for the highly-anticipated XU Festival Days 2019.

For this year's event, Xavier Ateneo will hold three different contests that are open to Xavier Ateneo and non-XU students as well as XU alumni from junior high school, senior high school, and college levels.

The festival will showcase the talents of Mindanaoans through a music fest, a hip-hop competition, and a Korean pop dance cover contest.

The music fest will feature bands from Xavier Ateneo and other schools and universities in Mindanao. For the Hip-hop Extreme Competition, Xavier Ateneo welcomes applications from dance crews with 6 to 15 members. It is open to XU and non-XU students from junior high, senior high, and college. Young XU alumni are also qualified to join.

As per tradition, there will be a K-pop dance cover contest during the festival. The university encourages all dance cover groups in Mindanao to participate in the competition.

With a theme of “XU is You,” the festival hails the accomplishments and societal contributions of Xavier Ateneo's alumni and present students.

"It's a festival that aims to keep the love and nurture our diversity, along with the people of the City of Golden Friendship and beyond; to remain committed to serving the peripheries; to empowering our communities, others, and ourselves; and to building peace and prosperity in Mindanao," the university said in a statement.
