As a fresh morning began, a solemn flag-raising ceremony was held at the Lucas Hall grounds, 8:00AM, June 10, Wednesday.

Following COVID-19 precautions and social distancing measures, the ceremony was attended by a number of Xavier Ateneo employees. The Philippine national anthem was played softly through the campus public address system as employees sang in hushed tones. 

In this ceremony, Xavier Ateneo recognizes the efforts of Filipino frontline personnel and health workers around the world. Xavier Ateneo prays for strength and protection as they continue to serve the country.  

Xavier Ateneo also prays for Filipino politicians, that they may properly discern their decisions and align their interests for the common good, especially in these trying times.

Lastly, Xavier Ateneo also expresses her gratitude to the generosity of those who continue to support the #XUKontraCOVID19, XU's institutional response to the present crisis.

In lieu of the annual Independence Day program by the Office Mission and Ministry, Xavier Ateneo invites everyone to display the Philippine flag in front of their houses and offices.∎
