Dr Gina participated and did the pitch during yesterday's national competition representing Region 10 and the Northern Mindanao Consortium for Health Research and Development (NORMINCOHRD). The project they authored is Web-GRiD, which stands for Web-based Geospatial Risk Database, is a decision support tool developed by Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan (XU). It uses geographic-based analysis to capture the unique characteristics of a particular location or community, to help ensure a more suitable and workable plan of action. Together with the National Resilience Council, the Coastal Cities at Risk Project, and the EpiMetrics, XU trained Local Government Units (LGUs) in establishing their own COVID-19 dashboards that are problem-focused, solutions-driven, accessible, timely, and customized to the local setting. These dashboards also include other hazards imminent to the place such as floods, landslides, and earthquakes – capturing a multi-hazard approach and an integrated risk perspective. As of the present, XU continues to work with partner LGUs for a vaccine-layer on their Web-GRiD dashboard, to be used as a guide for local vaccination rollout.
