Development Communication Society (DevCom Soc)

As the pandemic propels our communities online, new challenges unique to cyberspace begin to present themselves. These challenges, however, are met by the relentless resilience and perseverance of youth organizations. Social MediaNOW, a virtual summit organized by the Development Communication Society (DevCom Soc) in partnership with KAMIndanao, teaches members of youth organizations the importance of becoming socially conscious and advocating for peace online.

With various lessons and talks from esteemed speakers, the two-day event was attended by youth leaders and peace advocates from 47 youth organizations across Mindanao. It featured talks on positive digital engagement, a peace advocate’s place in the digital world, and activating others into action. The success of the event despite the circumstance is living proof that the force of youth leadership only grows stronger in the face of adversity.
