1x1Jeky Judiel Rain A. Lim, first XU Huawei Seeds for the Future Awardee for 2021

Xavier Ateneo’s College of Computer Studies headed by its dean, Dr. Meldie A. Apag, has announced the opening of the selection process for the “2022 XU Huawei Seed for the Future award”, which was awarded last year to Jeky Judiel Rain A. Lim, a 4th year BSIS student.

The Huawei Seeds for the Future program gives more opportunities for the awardees to broaden their horizons, immerse themselves in a cross-cultural environment and promote talent development. The awardees were screened thoroughly and then trained and exposed to the Huawei cutting-edge technology: 5G, cloud computing, and AI. At the end of the program, Certificate of Graduation was given to the awardees.

 For 2021, all activities were done online but for 2022, the top ten (10) student awardees from the Philippines will travel to Thailand and stay for nine (9) days and study with students from other Asia Pacific Countries. Afterwards, there will be an accelerator camp in Singapore (6 days) which will then total to fifteen days for the International Study program. To qualify for the Huawei Seeds for the Future program, students must undergo a selection process and must possess the following academic requirements:

a)        Undergraduates/graduates from top universities with outstanding academic records, demonstrated passion in ICT industry, an interest in cross-culture communications, and a strong desire to learn.

b)        GPA 3.4 or above, or ranking the top 20% in their degree program

c)         Strong English proficiency

d)        Team spirit and leadership

e)         Valid Philippine Passport
