Last August 26, 2022, Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan was recognized by CHED as an exemplary higher education institution that championed the global reputation of the Philippine higher education. Dubbed as ASEAN-ICONS (ASEAN Philippine Higher Education Internationalization Champions of Nation-building and Sustainability) Awards Night, the event was organized by the CHED-International Affairs Staff in celebration of the 55th Founding Anniversary of the ASEAN.

Dr Juliet Dalagan, XU’s Vice President for Higher Education, received the award on behalf of the university. The award is in recognition of Xavier Ateneo’s institution’s efforts and commitment to continuously advance the Philippine higher education by participating in recognized international league tables such as Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), Times Higher Education (THE), World’s Universities with Real Impact (WURI) and contributing to the country’s economic and societal goals.
