Xavier University, in coordination with the Department of Health, staged the PinasLakas Vaccination Drive last August 26, 2022 at the XU Pueblo campus. This initiative aimed to raise the proportion of immunized people among the XU community members and their families. The XUGS community, in particular the students, were strongly urged to participate in the activity in order to get ready for the future face-to-face classes, which will begin in November 2022.

XUGS Principal Fr. Frank Dennis Savadera, SJ and Ms. Fritzie Rapadas, Assistant Principal for Administration, together with other school personnel organized the said activity. The Dr. Jose P. Rizal School of Medicine also provided assistance during the entire event.

Of the 415 Pre-registrants, 268 showed up on the day and received their vaccinations. XUGS expressed its appreciation to the Department of Health for the chance to help the local community through its participation in this campaign.

In order to create more immunized and secure communities, XU and the Department of Health continue to urge those who have not received vaccinations to get vaccinated.
