On the morning of 6 October 2022, the Jesuits of Cagayan de Oro transferred the cremated remains of their departed brothers in a religious ceremony at a temporary Jesuit columbarium at the XU Basic Education complex in Pueblo. The Mass for the Dead with a Rite of Inurnment was presided over by Father Rector Ismael Jose III V. Chan-Gonzaga, S.J. and attended by members of the local Jesuit community.

The columbarium will serve as “the provisionary resting place of the remains of our dear Jesuit brothers until they will be transferred to the new Jesuit columbarium beside the new University Church in the Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan’s Masterson Campus.” (https://www.xu.edu.ph/xavier- news/194-xu-ateneo-news-sy- 2020-2023/5724-statement-on- exhumation-and-transfer-of- the-deceased-jesuits-to-the- new-columbarium-and-campus-of- the-future?fbclid= IwAR1bzE9Dzg8H9NkKP1JGJ4tqKxYE HinQP02Mu0XtA- tvkUQGMUtpy7LdXe8)
