Engr Edwin Ortiz, Chair of the Chemical Engineering Department, says that Mañgosing's achievement was “expected because he was an excellent student, graduating summa cum laude.” Mañgosing graduated last July 2022 with a degree in Chemical Engineering.

Over the years, the XU Chemical Engineering Department has had a long list of graduates who were in the top 10 of the Chemical Licensure Examination. To name a few, Engr Mc Jason L. Laurete ranked 8th in 2019; Engr Emmanuel C. Cimafranca, 10th in 2018; Engr Rene Rey Mondia, 10th in 2016; Engr Marbert D. Pinque, 4th in 2014; and Engr Arniel L. Belarmino and Engr Sugar R. Estrada, 2nd and 4th in 2013, respectively.
