Xavier University Night School Program - ALS celebrated its completion ceremony for the Batch 7 learners comprised of 11 learners from the elementary level, and 21 from the Junior High School. The event marked a significant milestone in the journey of resilient education.

The Completion Ceremony was graced by esteemed guests from the Department of Education, who commended the learners for their dedication and perseverance: Dr Janry B Colonia, Education Program Specialist II of ALS Division, Cagayan de Oro City, Ms Norhidaya Hadji Sarip, RSW, Head of Oro Response and Processing Section, Cagayan de Oro City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD); and Mr Ismael B Salarda, Director of the Arrupe Educational Center, School of Education.

The XU NSP-ALS is an exemplary collaborative and funded project lodged in the Arrupe Educational Center (AEC) of the Xavier Ateneo School of Education. The program brings together various stakeholders, including the City Local Government Unit of Cagayan de Oro through the CSWD, the Department of Education-ALS, and Xavier Ateneo. Together, they strive to promote holistic non-formal education and develop essential life skills, ensuring that out-of-school youth, adults, and children facing unique circumstances receive an opportunity to learn and grow.

The commencement ceremony started with a touching processional march, as the learners walked alongside their parents, guardians, and mentors. The highlight of the event was the hooding of the 'sablay,' an important symbol representing the successful completion of their academic journey. The 'sablay' embodies the learners' resilience, dedication, and hard work in overcoming challenges and obstacles to reach this momentous occasion.

During the ceremony, outstanding learners were recognized and celebrated for their remarkable achievements throughout their educational journey. They received special awards, inspiring others to aim for excellence and strive for greatness.

The event's success serves as a testament to the collective commitment of educators, government agencies, and the local community in promoting resilient education. The XU NSP-ALS continues to pave the way for individuals from all walks of life to gain knowledge, skills, and confidence, empowering them to create a brighter future for themselves and their communities.

As the XU NSP-ALS looks ahead to a promising future, it stands as a beacon of hope, breaking barriers to education and unlocking doors of opportunity for learners to excel and achieve their dreams.
